Mai Tai

First mixed by Trader Vic in Oakland, 1944, the Mai Tai was born from a moment of delight - a Tahitian guest's exclamation, "Maita'i roa ae!", meaning "Out of this world!" or "The best!" Over time, its name was borrowed and diluted, used to sell overly sweet, brightly colored resort imitations. Subourbon's Mai Tai is a return to the original - spirit-forward, complex, and unapologetically honest. Each rum holds to the highest of standards, with no additives or dosage, and our house-made orgeat is crafted from almonds kissed with lemongrass. Bright lime and dry Curacao weave through layers of oak, spice, and sugarcane funk - a quiet storm in a glass, restoring what paradise was meant to taste like.
