Switched Miso Old Fashioned

Some say tradition isn't something to preserve - it's something to perfect. The Old Fashioned offers just three elements to perfect: spirit, bitters, and sugar - so we reimagined all three. We replaced the proofing water in Elijah Craig with five-year-old Dry Madeira, layered it with Old Elk Port Cask Finished Bourbon, and finished it with a miso-vanilla syrup and house-made dashi and cocoa bitters for depth and balance. The result is Subourbon's signature cocktail - complex, savory, and anything but old-fashioned.
