Vieux Carre
$22Bhakta 1928 Private Selection, Cocchi di Torino Sweet Vermouth, Benedictine, PeychaudÕs Bitters
First mixed in New Orleans in the 1930s, the Vieux Carr - French for "old square" - was a celebration of the world's great spirits converging in one glass. Our version highlights some of our favorite examples within their class, offering what we believe to be the best possible expression of this timeless drink. Bhakta 1928 Private Selection sets the tone - a masterful blend of 60% rye, 30% Calvados, and 10% thirty-year-old Armagnac - creating a spirit both intricate and elegant. For vermouth, we chose Cocchi di Torino for its deep, wine-rich body and subtle spice, binding everything together. Finished with the requisite Benedictine and Peychaud's Bitters, it's a cocktail that doesn't so much speak of history - it still lives there.
