Saffron-infused Bardstown Origin Wheated Bourbon, Spiced Honey, Lemon Juice

A neo-classic from the mid-2000s NYC cocktail revolution era at the bar Milk & Honey. This established version couldn't be simpler with bourbon, lemon juice, and honey. Our take focuses on saffron and the spices one might find in masala chai. We begin by sous viding saffron threads into bourbon at 165 degrees for 3 hours, then straining out. The honey syrup starts with toasted spices including green cardamom, star anise, cinnamon, clove, and allspice. The result is a bright "gold" colored gold rush.
